Steady Trigger Jar

Product Details

Access Downhole’s Steady Trigger Jar was designed to perform more efficiently in longer laterals. It was also purposed to be a more robust bi-directional jar where the generally available options fall off in utility in the laterals currently being drilled by operators. The Steady Trigger Jar also still maintains the adjustable functionality with respect to timing and impact adjustment based on downhole conditions.

Some of the major advancements with the Steady Trigger Jar revolve around alterations to the internal dimensions. These changes allowed for minimizing the number of components that make the jar up, which increase both reliability and cost effectiveness. These savings and quality control measures are passed directly on to the customer.

The other major step forward involved adjusting the volume of the pump open area. This change allows the jar to be reset without decreasing the fluid rate. It also lowers the amount of weight necessary to actuate the jar in the other direction. In longer laterals it is often more difficult to apply enough weight down to reset or fire traditional jars for any effect.

The many changes comprising the Steady Trigger Jar design bolster confidence in the utility of jars in long laterals.

Major Benefits

  • Mechanically designed and optimized specifically for increased lateral length
  • Allows for reset both with lower set down weight and without slowing the fluid rate
  • Fewer assembly components allowing for a stronger total unit
