Hydraulic Anchor

Product Details

Access Downhole's Hydraulic Anchor is a conversion kit based adaptation from the Hydraulic UnderReamer. By switching out the cutting blades for slip bodies. This tool is utilized to hold the tubing string, jointed or coiled in place temporarily for various types of treatments.

One of the benefits of utilizing the Hydraulic Anchor is that it can be reset simply by altering flow rate. This can be a benefit when multiple tubular cuts are necessary, when well conditions change during a tubular operation, or when a tool needs to be centralized for the most efficient operation. The tool also offers an uninterrupted through bore for dropping balls or other media.

The Hydraulic Anchor allows for a high expansion to body ratio, and maintains multi-set functionality. The four blade setup maintains stability in the tubular while set. Full blade retention allows for re- entry work in some instances without the need to remove production
tubulars. Also, the blades are fully retracted into the tool body when not in use.

All the Hydraulic Anchor requires is between 500–1,000psi of back- pressure to keep the blades engaged, which can be accomplished simply by adjustable nozzle configurations based on both he BHA and wellbore conditions.

Major Benefits

  • Able to be redressed in the field
  • 90° blade placement allows for stable centralization
  • Flow operated retractable blades for multiple sets and movements
  • High impact and torque-tolerant design
